Villa Angiolina, Molise is in the territory of Guglionesi. It has 5,000 inhabitants.
It is located on a hilltop at an elevation of 350 metres with a 360 degree view
Directly eastward you have a breathtaking view of the Adriatic Sea and the Tremiti Islands
Northward you can see the Maiella mountain range, with the Gran Sasso directly behind it
Southward is a stupendous view of the Gargano and the cities of Vieste and Peschici
Westward is a magnificent view of the Apennine mountain range.
Not to mention the beautiful countryside, entirely cultivated by local farmers, that surrounds you in
every direction.
Guglionesi is a very lively town. It has an elementary school and a high school that also draws
students from the surrounding villages, so families and young people give it a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
There is no shortage of coffee shops, about 15, where you can have breakfast with delicious cappuccino and croissants
and an aperitivo in the early evening, as is the custom. Summers are very interesting as the population triples.
We also have 2 excellent restaurants, Il Pagatore and Quinto Quarto, and a very good pizzeria, Il Belvedere.

Located only a 15-minute drive away, the nearby city of Termoli offers a wide range of activities for our guests to enjoy.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a base for your Molise adventures, Villa Angiolina Molise is the perfect choice.
Take a stroll through the historic old town, sample fresh seafood dishes at one of the many restaurants, or dance the night away at a local club.
As we are only 10 kilometres from the Adriatic Sea, our port city and great tourist attraction is the city of Termoli.
Its population of 30,000 swells to 100,000 during the months of July and August. Visitors are mostly returning visitors
who migrated to other parts of the world such as northern Italy, other cities in Europe, North America and as far away as Australia and South
Africa. Needless to say, there are many great restaurants, most of them with patios, so you may eat inside or out.
Our main dish is seafood stew or fresh grilled fish. These are products which are freshly fished the same day or the day before as there are many
fishermen who own fishing boats and have fished the waters of the Adriatic for generations.
Notable restaurants are: Da Nicolino where you can have the absolute best fish stew, Mare e Monti which serves fish and meat, Svevia,
Miseria e Nobiltà, Pizzeria La Gioconda.
I mentioned you can see the Tremiti Islands from Guglionesi. They are easy to visit as you can catch a fast boat that leaves every morning
and returns in the late afternoon, making it a very pleasant day trip. The main attraction is its pristine blue, refreshing water and its unspoiled beaches.
There are a few amazing restaurants serving the catch of the day which is so, so delicious.
Surrounding cities with lots to see are Vasto, 30 kilometres to the north, and Campobasso, our provincial capital, 60 kilometres to the west.
Nearby is also the archaeological site of Sepino.
Campomarino, a seaside village 5 kilometres to the south. The city of Pescara, 100 kilometres to the north. Vieste and Peschici in Puglia to the south
are only 50 kilometres away. The town of Montenero, only 10 kilometres to the north, has the most amazing agriturismo and winery, called Terresacre.
Terresacre serves home grown food with a fixed menu which allows you to try its specialties, as well as pizza if you like.
Speaking of wineries, in the town of San Martino in Pensilis we have the most amazing winery, called CATABBO. Their specialty is a wine called Tintilia,
which is produced from the indigenous grape of the same name. It is a deep, hearty red wine.
You are about 15 minutes from the beaches at Termoli and Campomarino, and Guglionesi itself has everything you need day to day. Part of staying here is eating like a local, so these are the places we actually send our guests, with what people say about them.
The highest rated restaurant in the village and an easy walk from the centre. Straightforward Molisan cooking done properly, at prices that still feel like the countryside.
One of our own picks in Guglionesi for traditional Molisan home cooking, the kind of unfussy village trattoria that visitors would never find on their own.
The pizza place in the village, and a serious one: the dough goes through a double pre-ferment and a long maturation, which is why it eats so light. Also does fried starters and pizza by the slice to take away, with free parking outside.
Pizza eaten beside the belvedere itself, which makes the terrace one of the prettiest spots in town at sunset. Local zero kilometre ingredients and a long, inventive pizza list.
The address for brodetto, the Adriatic fish stew Termoli is known for, plus seafood pasta, served under brick arches in a genuinely elegant room. Reservations are required.
A busy, long standing seafood trattoria right in the old town, with outdoor tables on the lane. Less formal than Nicolino and an easy choice after a day on the beach.
Our pick for pizza. Wood fired, very light dough, generous portions and prices below what you would expect. Rustic and always full of locals rather than visitors.
A wooden cottage by the little port, run by a mother and son: she cooks, he serves. The menu changes almost daily around handmade pasta and whatever is fresh, and it arrives as a generous multi course meal. Tiny inside, with a gazebo for summer, so book ahead and come hungry.
Come here for the bistecca alla fiorentina, which the owner Giuseppe cooks himself and is visibly proud of. Grilled meat rather than fish, and with only twenty seats a reservation is essential.
One of the best food and wine experiences in the area, on a hillside farm that makes its own olive oil and wine. A set menu at a fixed price per head lets you work through the specialities, and there is a wood oven for pizza too.
A family winery founded in 1990, farming organically on hills at around 300 metres. Unusual for doing both Tintilia, the indigenous red of Molise, in red, rosé and sparkling versions, and Falanghina among the whites. Worth calling ahead for a tasting.
Ratings checked in August 2026. Small kitchens fill up quickly in summer, so call ahead where we have said to book.
Do not take our word for it. Here is how guests rate their stay at Villa Angiolina.
Guests single out the warm welcome from the family who run it, the panoramic views over the olive groves to the Adriatic and the Tremiti Islands, and the deep calm of the hilltop setting.

We are in Contrada S. Vito 6, on a hilltop just outside Guglionesi in Molise, southern Italy. It is about a 15 minute drive from the Adriatic town of Termoli and roughly 10 kilometres from the sea.
Termoli, with its old town, beaches, train station and ferries to the Tremiti Islands, is about 15 minutes away by car.
About 15 minutes by car. The beaches at Termoli and Campomarino are roughly 10 kilometres away, so you can spend the whole day at the sea and still sleep in the quiet of the countryside.
Yes. The villa sits at 350 metres with an open view due east across the Adriatic, and on a clear day the Tremiti Islands are visible on the horizon from our own land. The same 360 degree panorama takes in the Maiella and the Gran Sasso to the north and the Gargano to the south.
Drive about 15 minutes to the port of Termoli and take the fast boat, which leaves in the morning and returns in the late afternoon. It makes an easy day trip: pristine blue water, unspoiled beaches and a few excellent restaurants serving the catch of the day. You come back to a quiet hilltop in the evening rather than a crowded resort.
Very. We are on a hilltop surrounded by olive groves and working farmland, with no traffic and no crowds, just the view. There is an outdoor pool, a garden and a terrace made for a slow morning. Most guests use us as the calm end of the day, after the beach, Termoli or the Tremiti.
It is one of the easiest stops on the whole Adriatic drive. We are a short drive from the A14 motorway and sit roughly between the two: Vasto in Abruzzo is 30 kilometres north, and Vieste and Peschici on the Gargano are about 50 kilometres south. Break the journey here for a night, park for free, sleep somewhere silent, and arrive in Puglia rested.
Yes. We sit right where Molise meets Puglia. Vieste and Peschici on the Gargano coast are about 50 kilometres south, so we are an ideal quiet, affordable overnight stop for anyone driving down the Adriatic toward Puglia, or a base for day trips into the Gargano.
Molise is the region most travellers drive straight past, which is exactly why it is worth stopping in. You get the same Adriatic coast, the same food and wine culture and a fraction of the crowds and the prices, especially in July and August. From here the Gargano is a day trip, so you can see Puglia without having to stay in it.
Six en-suite bedrooms, each with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom, plenty of free parking, and a 360 degree hilltop panorama over the sea and mountains.
